Sending Icebergs

It’s like a birth but it is in reverse never gets better, always gets worse

She puts her breath
behind her lips
lined with fish scales

and taught me a new language
with her kiss
and how to drown
and worry about sinking
about being an anchor
about being too heavy
about not being needed

She kisses me
with fish scales
and I am a fish out of water
naked
awkward
slapping my soft skin against hers
naked
awkward
fish out of water.
